the dealer, like most is probably a bit stupid lol.
It is September 1st they are released. Maybe he was on about something else to try and make you place your order sooner.

Actaully the dealer said 6th so

The dealer said the 6th because:

They are fully booked with previous orders until that date...

I collected my Focus on Sept 6th due to this reason.

You obviously didn't understand the dealer correctly. They would have said you couldn't have it delivered until 6th.

1. depends on your mileage. Diesel fuel is more expensive than petrol and also the car will be more expensive to buy.

2. Totally your choice. I don't see how we can answer that for you.

Ok the 1.25 in the Mk6, in my opinion isnt as good as it was in the Mk5. If you can insure the 1.4 I'd personally go for that as it will be an adequate all rounder.

thats why u should get the cheapest and smallest engine! did own a 1L corsa for 5 years and it wasn't that bored to drive! cos at least u using all the power of the engine cos there not powerful compared to an ST for example which u can't use all the power most of the time!

I've driven both the 1.25 and the 1.4 current shape Fiestas and the 1.25 is much better. It's only 5PS down but revs much more freely than the 1.4, is cheaper to insure and uses less fuel.
On the MKIV Fiestas the 1.4 was fantastic compared to the 1.25, not any more. The gearing is all wrong and Euro IV emmission regs have strangled it.

You won't go wrong with a Zetec Climate 1.25, just make sure it's got the free technology pack and the free sports pack on it.
Shop around the net and loads of dealers to get the best price.
There's some severe marketing discount on this model at the moment because the new Corsa is outselling the Fiesta like mad and Ford are trying to retain market leadership.
Actually, go and buy a Corsa, it's a much better car!!
1.2 SXi is a lovely little car
