Was it a laser alignment or a cheap place that just does it by their 'perfect' judgment?

Don't blame you mate. I wouldnt be happy with that either. I cannot believe that they have given it back to you like that.

My steering wheel was 'slightly' off centre the first day i got it, the dealer fobbed me off with ''thats normal'' over time i've got used to it cus it was only slightly off centre.

sounds like theres deffo a problem there mate, what you gota do is get them to hold front two wheels so they dead straight and then u turn steering wheel to perfect position and shud fix problem, u can actually do it on a high kerb if your careful, had same problem with mine

Modern Fords are a nightmare to get the steering wheel straight after you've had them tracked.
You need to pay a bit more unfortunately and get it done at a dealer or at a Rapid Fit if you've got one near you.
The tracking goes out alot on the ST my old one was done at least five times and scrubbed the front tyres to the threads by 7000 miles.

Mine was like that when I took delivery of the car. I had problems with my front offside tyre wearing excessively aswell.

I hated seeing the wheel out of centre so I booked it into for them to straighten it up and sort out the tracking. They did a top job and all is now well

I agree with Dave T ST, are the best bet for sorting out problems with tracking.

If they cant sort it its due a service in october so will get Ford to do it then.

Well my first set of tyres (PZero's)which came with my car, was chewed up on the inner edge in only 5000 miles! Obviously someone at Ford did their PDI properly.. especially their paintwork check. I had them laser tracked at Just Tyres to -1.0 but the tyres were knackered again at a similar milage. Took the car down to Ford and got ripped off for £76.38 so they could track it to -0.2 which aparently is the Ford recommended value for ST's which exhibit this problem.
