I went the other day (Evans Halshaw) and they quoted me £110 for just a normal key i.e. not a remote. Think it cost about £50 for the key and the rest for cutting/ programming it. Is this right?

If you have 2 keys that start the car you can programme the new key to the immobiliser yourself (process in handbook)
If you only have 1 key then it will need to be programmed on WDS at roughly an hours labour (depends on dealerships labour rate)
The remote key £65.38 inclusive of cutting, battery etc Manual key £21.84 inc
If you need the remote programmed to the C/L if your dealer is helpful enough they should be able to tell you of the process (quite simple to do)

Hi, having remote key problems, bought my mk6.5 Fiesta over 2 years ago and all along the remote unlocking has not worked. I tried to reprogram the remote unlocking as showing in the handbook, ignition on/off wait for the beep etc... the key still didn’t work even after a battery replacement, a mechanic friend recommended I try a new key, got one on eBay for £30 with trusted reviews from mk6 owners, I replaced the part of the new key with the remote circuit and buttons to avoid having to program the transponder for the immobiliser as I only have one original key. Still nothing!
Anyone know if there could be a problem with the car?
