I have just picked up my new ST and when I remove the dipstick, the oil level is really difficult to read. Even on level ground sometimes it seems low and other times it seems alright. I am allowing time for the oil to settle.

Anybody else having trouble seeing the oil level?

i think its coz the oil is so clean check it after a few miles mines the same

on first time the oil level is low but checking a second time straight away the level is back to normal! does that to my car as well! and that not only on ST cos its the same on my dad car!

I had this very same conversation last night. I had to seek a second opinion because I couldn’t read the dipstick properly the first, second or third time. And even when I did get a reading I wasn’t sure whether it was a fluke or not.

I personally think it’s just a really poor design to be honest.

I think that I am going to have to make my own dipstick, it can't be to difficult.

Apart from this the car is everything I hoped it would be (as I bought it without a test drive)
