Haven't posted for a long time because my PC died.

The other morning the car failed to start. Info said 'high engine temperature' although it hadn't been used for 12 hours and then changed to 'engine system fault'. The next day it started but the amber engine light stayed on. Drove it to my Ford dealers where it has been for the last two days and they are still no nearer finding out what the problem is. Apparently they haven't seen the fault codes it's coming up with before and they are in discussion with Ford technical department.

I just want my ST back

PS This is after I washed the car the other day and found a small dent in the rear bumper. Gutted.....

Sounds like the engine temperature sensor has failed and may even have shorted out the ECU.

Even if it has shorted the ECu it will all be cover by warrenty. Just as well coz a an ECU could cost ££££'s!

Yeah it'll be covered under warranty.

Today's update: They've still got the car but they think it's probably to do with the instrument console and if so it will need a new one.

I've had the car 15 months and it's had a new GEM module (alarm), new O/S electric folding mirror and now this. I love my ST but I'm now really p**sed off.

Final update.

After five days in the garage they couldn't find anything wrong. They downloaded the latest software update to the car and handed it back.

The car feels quicker now. The revs drop like they should when the clutch is engaged during gearchange and tickover's a lot better.
