What is everyone's opinion on putting mudflaps on the ST? Looks are a personal thing but I've seen a few cars with and they never seem to look quite right, especially the front one's. It just seems they don't fit as nice as they should because of the side skirt.

Also, it seems that if the roads are messy the side of the car still gets covered in grime etc. anyway, even some of the wheel arch too. Do they actually do much good other than perhaps stopping a little bit of mud here and there?

I'd be interested to hear from anyone with an ST a few years old - how is the condition of the sides/arches of your car after a few years if you don't have mudflaps? Any damage to your side stripes?

Let the debate commence!

The main advantage you're looking at in having mudflaps is that they will dramatically reduce stone chips on the side skirts. The dirt and mud will still get there as you have pointed out. If you don't drive on dirty roads I would not bother. I don't have any on mine but I've sometimes considered getting a set when I am removing the tar from the sides though even for the tar I'm not sure they would really help.

Ive seen mudflaps on a plane white ST before and they looked really good. They were plane white as well and i will eventually get a set for mine. I suppose it's just personal opinion. Anyone got any pics with theres on?

The bf had front and rear mudflaps on his ST and the sides of his car were always much much cleaner than mine after the same amount of driving, so I'd say they stop more than a little bit of mud.

I dont think they'd stop stones flying up and damaging the side stripes because both our cars are roughly the same age (2 and a bit years old) and both our sides stripes are fine. What you've got to worry about with stone chips is your bonnet, front bumper and wings.

I've got front and rears, the same as on the torquesteer site. They have been on for about 12months now and i find they keep the car really clean(i live in cornwall where the roads i use are quite shitty)The sides and rear wheel arches are stone chip free!!personally i think they look good on the st but its down to personnal choice! i posted some pictures in the forecourt section some time ago have a look!!!
