Yeah PinkRinse is basically right. I think with Ford you get a 12 month manufacturer warranty and then a further 2 year dealer warranty free of charge subject to observing the manufacturer's requirements as far as getting it serviced by an authorised dealer are concerned. Its still a 3 year warranty, just provided that you don't get all the servicing and maintenance done by your local back street garage. I'll check what it says in my handbook, but I've got no doubt that buying a car like we have still entitles you to the same warranty and associated service that you'd get had you bought it at a main dealer.
So I take it you got a car with the leather in the end then Chris? I originally went for Colorado red without leather and was told that I'd be looking at about 10-12 weeks at the time, which sounded accurate as this was before the "wrong glue on the stripes" fiasco! I rang up after about a fortnight to see what was happening and if there was anything else that could be done and thats when we got talking about these leather ones. They offered me a similar deal to you with my part-ex and gave me a good price for the actual leather so I thought what the hell. I was then able to pick mine up within a fortnight. I guess you probably noticed on their website that they've also got some bloody good prices on cars which were just a little out of my budget (Civic Type Rs, base Imprezas & Evos, that kind of thing) but when I went into the showroom it was rammed with about 8 Imprezas! I certainly know where I'll be going for my next car! lol
