Hey Chris22, welcome to the forum. I got mine from allbrandsnew as well, you definitely have the full manufacturer's warranty and can take it in to any dealer to get any problems sorted.

I couldn't fault them really. Ok, I was also told by Pete that it'd be about 3 weeks delivery but having done my homework I knew that this was just sales talk. Once I'd ordered and started dealing with Calvin then they were all very honest about it. Bargain price too and they managed to source another car for me so I could get hold of one a bit quicker. It meant paying slightly more for a full leather interior but I'm glad I did it in the end as the full leather is sweet, and it meant I only waited about 4 weeks from ordering before I went up to collect it.

How many Imprezas did they have in their showroom though?!

The same happened with me with the leather interior.
The problem was that I had to part ex my old astra and they said if I wanted a normal ST with a 12 week wait then they would only give me 4k for my Astra, but if i went for the leather then they could get that within 4 weeks and would give me 5k for the astra so i went for it but it still took 8 weeks!!
It was definitly worth the wait though! I have never had a fast car before, but the ST is very nippy. Bit bumpy on rough roads but worth it for the handling.

I paid to have my car delivered so I didnt see any imprezas!

Regarding the warranty, I am a bit confused, I thought that it came with a 3 year warranty (or 60000 miles) but in the service book it suggests that there is only 1 year warranty and you have to pay extra for the next 2 years???

I understand it as you have to get your car serviced at a Ford dealership within a year of purchasing it and then the warranty is carried on. I voided the 3 year warranty on my old Fiesta because I'd been made redundant in the same month my service was due and I couldnt afford it!

Yeah PinkRinse is basically right. I think with Ford you get a 12 month manufacturer warranty and then a further 2 year dealer warranty free of charge subject to observing the manufacturer's requirements as far as getting it serviced by an authorised dealer are concerned. Its still a 3 year warranty, just provided that you don't get all the servicing and maintenance done by your local back street garage. I'll check what it says in my handbook, but I've got no doubt that buying a car like we have still entitles you to the same warranty and associated service that you'd get had you bought it at a main dealer.

So I take it you got a car with the leather in the end then Chris? I originally went for Colorado red without leather and was told that I'd be looking at about 10-12 weeks at the time, which sounded accurate as this was before the "wrong glue on the stripes" fiasco! I rang up after about a fortnight to see what was happening and if there was anything else that could be done and thats when we got talking about these leather ones. They offered me a similar deal to you with my part-ex and gave me a good price for the actual leather so I thought what the hell. I was then able to pick mine up within a fortnight. I guess you probably noticed on their website that they've also got some bloody good prices on cars which were just a little out of my budget (Civic Type Rs, base Imprezas & Evos, that kind of thing) but when I went into the showroom it was rammed with about 8 Imprezas! I certainly know where I'll be going for my next car! lol

Yes, I had the burning smell also. its seems to have lessoned. I checked my oil and it was right down to minimum after only 400 miles. I was told that heavy oil consumption normal for first 3000 or so miles.
I also find boot (near exhaust) gets pretty warm also.

I wondering if anyone has experienced probs with clutch burning smell (different to engine smell). I dont know if its just me should I be concerned? :-(

Hey sorry for the delay, had a week in Ibiza.
I did go for the leather interior in the end and am well chuffed with it!
I was looking at the Civic type R on the site, and well tepmted to try to stretch the budget, but then a friend of mine went and bought a type R so that sort of made my mind up. Glad I went for the ST, ok it may not be as fast but there are loads of type R's about but hardly any ST's (yet)
