What good is a range of 1km in an open space?

If you compare this to the Radios we use in the cars on Events which have a 5km range and if you go over a big hill or behind a couple of big buildings they stop working... so this device would be useless unless you was standing next to it... when in fact you would be able to see if someone broke into it or not!

peace of mind when parked outside your house or outside a shop or your mates house or in pub, just added protection, I used to have a pager on my alarm on my previous RS1800, currently use a Disklok, don't know how good this
pager/lock actually is but clearly the pager is very handy.

TBH they are not going to get far without the keys so a system such as this is pretty pointless... You wouldn't know if it was stolen. The only real system that is useful now days is a tracker.
