I've just had a quote with Esure on a Scooby and it came out at £520 with protected NCB and £200 excess.
I thought it would be twice that TBH.

thats good mate, being of that age helps though! if i didnt have my points my quote would have been MUCH lower. seems insurance companies dont like people who have driving an uninsured vehicle on their database.
oh and i did have insurance on the car i was selling but not the one i picked up the day i got pulled over. just bad luck.

Just to add... I put all my details in on confused.com but put myself in as a year older and having 1 years ncb to mock up my position when I come to insure it.

For only me insuring a:

MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION IX FQ-340 2005- 1997cc 4 DOOR SALOON Manual Petrol

10,000 Miles

£22,000 - Estimated Price

Which is obviously one of the top sporty models on Group 20 insurance.

The price was: £3373.65

Which... ok is quite a lot of money... but if you take into account... I don't drink, don't smoke and don't do drugs... you can take that out of the price which would be around 1.5-2k+ per year... and my insurance all of a sudden isn't that bad for my hobbie and something I have waited and worked so hard for these last 6 years.

I'm very happy knowing that I can infact insure the when it comes out. I was a little worried.

So

I wasn't intersted in the list price... only trying to compare it to around the figure I think the will be worth... I think it will be about 24k but i put 22k just as a figure.

I'm not going to wish my 1 1/2 years away just for the sake of the car either. I want to enjoy every second of that time up until I get the car.

The older you get, the faster time passes by... I looked at some pics during X-mas time and I thought they were last years... when infact they were 2 years ago

Indeed I know what you mean about time going away quickly. It seems no time at all since I was saving up hard to get my and getting all excited looking forwards to when I would be able to get one, and that's now a whole three years ago. Crazy.

Won't be very long now till I'm the wrong side of 30.
