Just returned home after putting a deposit on a '07 ST for the wife.

She has been looking around at all of the alternatives and the ST ticked all the right boxes I have a couple of questions.

The car has no strips at all, is that normal? I am interested in have just side strips can this be done by the dealer and if so how much should I expect it to cost?

Next, just a general question.. is there anything we should be aware of during ownership?

hello welcome to the site! ST does come indeed without stripes but can always be order after at ur dealer and can side stripes only if u whish as the price don't remember but u can always go somewhere else like DMB for example and laso can have any colour u want and its much cheaper than ford
there nothing special to be aware while ownership there be few problem with tyres wear cos of bad tracking at factory but that problem seem to have disappear sometime also seem to be fail cat system and some jam 6cd player. one think which can be hard to get used to is the clutch whish can be difficut to use and turning circle which is not great other than that is just good fun

Hi and welcome to the site!

It is perfectly normal for the car not to have stripes and yes you can add them at a later date. I bought my performance blue ST 'naked' and fitted side dtripes a few months ago. I don't think the dealers do it after purchase and if they do it will cost you bucks! I did mine myself and it has turned out 'ok'. A lot of the owners here recommend Dave at DMB and he will fit you sides for around £25 supplied and fitted. Not sure where he is based and if he would be local to you, but a sign writing place should be able to sort you out.

WOW thanks for the quick replies

You mentioned tracking - Are the toe/chamber etc settings available anywhere? I would much prefer to get the car 'set up' correctly for my wife so she can make use of the cars full potential

The car is normally RAC checked before its handed over before hand so the tracking which sets up the toe/chamber settings should already be done. I would take it to a local tyre garage anyway and have them check it because they normally don't charge you if they don't have to change anything.

Fuel consumption isn't that bad!!
Just don't use cheap supermarket fuel (though sainsbury's super is v.good)
And don't waste your money on BP Ultimate or V-Power either.

Hi Scotto, welcome to the site .

As has been said, Dave at DMB Graphics will supply and fit side stripes for £25, and an excellent job he does, they are exactly identicle to the factory fitted ones, and those are a £75 option

He has a web site you can order them from and get a signwriter to fit them for you or phone him to arrange a fitting time; his place is in Bromsgrove, 2 mins off the motorway.

If you get the garage to do it,(Don't)

1/ They will charge a fortune and,

2/ They will probably be the wrong size.

Keep us informed and post some pics up when you get the chance.

£75 hahaha you are joking right !!! knowing main dealers I guess not.

I have the contact details for DMB and will be calling them tomorrow. I will post some pictures when we have the car. The dealer said it could be a couple of weeks due to the wife transferring her private plate onto the Fiesta.

No joke. Oh, £75 is the factory fitted option, so if the car has none from the factory, the main dealer will put their bit on top making it even more £'s .
