My brake pads need replacing as stated in my 1st service (70% worn). Its 2 months after and I want to be safe!

My mate who's a mechanic is going to sort it for me he said he can get 2 front and 2 rear Ford pads for £130 or identical pads but not ford for £40. Will non ford brake pads void my warranty?

Cheers

Steve

Non ford brake pads will not effect your warranty ,They will not effect your braking efficiency, but may not last as long.

I personally would change them now rather than risking knackering the discs. I had mine replaced not long ago and went for ford original fitment pads.

Buying cheap pads as well could cause a squeaky noise to occur. I personally would stick with the ford pads or get upgraded ones

£130 ia a bit steep, have you tried asking Ford how much they are yourself.
I know I bought a set of rears for my old Focus (C/O ST) and they were £20 so that makes the fronts £110, I don't think so?
The front pads are very easy to change but you need a tool to do the rears which wind back the calipers.
With Ford's prices I would suggest you could get new front discs as well for that price.
How many miles has the car done on the discs, it may be wise to change then as well.
