Doe's anybody change their oil before the recommended service intervals? I'm considering doing a oil change myself but don't want to waste the money if there's no need to. Doe's it make any difference the the engine anyway?

Yes, a lot of owners change their oil every 6 months or 6000 miles, whichever comes first, but the owners i know leave the oil filter for the full 12 monthly service. .

I'm another one who changes the oil every six months. There is no great need to, but it certainly only does more good to the car.

Every six months I now get the car serviced with the Havoline system, which is also a part of the 12 month service (but Ford recommend it is done every six months).

I enjoy driving the car more, knowing that the engine is in good nick.

I change my oil between the dealer service, mainly because I don't believe any oil can be efficient for a 12 months and a whole lotta miles.
I used to own a 1.3 fiesta and although I changed the oil every 6 months, I didn't do the filter (couldn't get to it easily enough)

to be honest though is there any real need to do an oil change every six month what with the advances with oils even if you don,t do a lot of mileage.
