Yeah, I spotted this in one of the magazines.

Should be interesting... to be close to a Focus RS with only 150 bhp... Wow... that's gotta be pushing some serious power.

I just thought the other day - if the Focus Cosworth is indeed a lightweight (BMW M3 CSL style) and does indeed have 300bhp, with AWD, and, if Ford do their magic on the handling, the Focus Cosworth could be unbeatable... literaly could be one of the fastest real-world cars out there. The potential for this car is incredible.

From what I've heard they are trying to out do Mitsubishi's active yawl control and have some real trick stuff going on underneath the car. There must be some real tough decisions being made about how much of a compromise it should be (from tuned family vehicle to stripped out racer).

Might not be what you're wanting to hear Hugh, but I suspect it will be fairly track focused with the ST and RS models being more road friendly.

That sounds fine to me, but if it's going to be around 30k then I want to be able to go touring in it as well. One of the things I dislike about the EVO is the small petrol tank and the high revs on motorways.

I'm sure it'll be fine though.

I'm still excited lol. There is such a big opportunity here - while the Evos and Scoobs are great, we all know that Ford can make cars go faster round corners.

I edited my original response to you Dave, it originally said that I'd love it to be like that! Something that at the weekend is a bit special when you pull it out of the garage.
Thing is, I then remind myself how much it will cost and cannot help but want to compromise a bit. In an ideal world I'd have an RS for the weekly commute, and a Cosworth for the weekend.

Put it this way, it's going to have a decent sized boot, it's going to seat 5... that's certainly a good start!!

On the bad side, the ride quality might be a bit harsh and the fuel economy might be scary. But I can live with that.

LOL!! My Granada get's 20-25mpg, and my Nova practically had scaffold poles for dampers, I'm sure I'll be fine.
