Thats not true, the electron disappears from one energy level when energy is absorbed, and reappears in a higher energ state, if the electron passed through the space between the you would not get discrete energy emissions form the atom it would be continuous so the electron has to leave space time! But where does it go, this effect can also be seen with capacitors, current passes between the plates but electron do not travel between them! Bizarre!!!!
