It is a good idea in theory, and we have looked before into having other merchandise for the site but at present it's just not viable. We run this site with our own time and our own money. So when buying something we have to risk our own hard earned cash in the hope that it sells. Also you usually have to buy large lots with stuff. For example, with the car stickers we buy them in a lot of 100 and each batch costs us over £100 to buy. The first batch took a year and a bit to sell, and the second batch is on course to take a similar length of time. We don't actually make any money out of that, we're just looking to recoup the costs of buying them plus P&P and bank charges etc. which is why they're a little cheaper than stickers on other sites.
Obviously if you start making things that are a bit more expensive then you can see that the upfront costs also increase exponentially.
If this was a paid membership site then maybe it would be different, but we chose to go down the route of making it a free site and I think we all agree that that has been a good choice. That's what has helped made the site what it is, a totally free, open forum for anyone and everyone to use. This also means you get a wide range of views which helps keep things balanced.
You never know maybe sometime in the future we will come up with a good way of doing things such as this, but for now its just not feasible. But as I said above, it is a good idea so thanks for suggesting it.
