Hi Guys

I have a Fiesta ST wich is only 3 months old and my right rear wheel broke off the axil. I am really struggeling to get any help from Ford South Africa. The rear wheel broke off the axil while going round a corner at about 25kmh's, there was no potholes, speedhumps or any obsrtuction in the road that could have caused the wheel to break off the axil. Please any help on how to go about this would be appreciated as i have been without my car for almost 2 weeks now. and i stronly believe that it had a factory fault. I have photo's that looks like the axil was only hanging on small piece and the vehicle is only 3 months old. surely the axil shouldnt break without hitting or crashing it into something?

I've never hear of such an event happening... have you tampered with the car? changed any suspension parts or wheels etc?

You need to find direct and get them to send out a representative to check the car over for manufacturing fault!!!

You need to get your Ford dealer to collect the car and fix it under warrenty.
Also ask for the complaints number, ring them and complain and inform then that you are suing for whiplash injury.
Also inform them that you have been in contact with a national newspaper and car magazine who are coming over take photos etc.
You'll get a new car.

Are you sure you haven't tampered with the car though???

As long as you have not tampered with the car in any way, they HAVE to fix this all up under warrenty. I cannot believe that they would even argue with you about this (unless they have proof that you caused it in some way)
Ford SA can be a pain in the ass though (I lived in CT for a few years and dealt with Ford) but keep on at 'em!!

Morning,

Sorry to hear of your unfortunate incident and before you do anything in this matter, please supply the following information:

- When was the vehicle first registered.
- Where was it bought from.
- Where is the vehicle at this time. i.e. at the dealership.
- What has the repairer advised as the cause of failure and what wheel is hanging off, Near Side or Off side.
- Do you have photo's of the outside & inside of the wheel and the suspension components. If so, please upload for my review.
- Have you hit any kirbs or cause damage to the rear wheel within the last 3 months.
- Have you appointed any independant assessor to investigate and report on his findings.

If you supply me with this information, I will be able to advise on the appropriate course of action. I look forward to receiving the requested information.

Chris
