My car has finally gone in to get the steering pump replaced - sadly a 2 day job according to Ford!!

Picked up my courtesy car - a 2008 1.25 Fiesta Style! - So frustrating putting my foot down and no power! - however I'm still driving it like my ST, though this nearly caused an accident when I realised how long it took to get to 70 when merging onto the motorway! - suppose it could of been a courtesy KA!

didn't realise I'd missed my car so much! - who feels my pain

Sorry to hear you're missing your car, but I'm surprised that it's taking that long. When I had my power steering pump replaced it took less than a day.

At least you'll appreciate it more when you get her back, but doe's seem like a long time to fix.

I told them I wasnt happy with the time it was taking - They have however offered a full valet on the car - even though I cleaned her Yesterday!

hope replacing the steering pump sorts the problem! - is this common to need replacing on a 56 reg car? when did yours need replacing Chris?

Mines an 05 plate, and needed replacing when it was just under two years old.

I've just bought my ST and I'm a bit worried about this pump issue here! Is it a common fault on the ST and is it covered by warrenty?

Is it also a more complex and expesive pump due to it being an ST or is it the same as others in the Ford range? Are there any symptoms to look out for?

I had a lot of probs with my last motor and I ended-up selling that and buying a newish ST for reliability and cheapish parts!

It's definitely covered under the warranty.

Maybe you should try another dealer and get a second opinion. Courtesy cars are great, especially if you get a KA because they corner quite well and run on fresh air.
