The comment was not just for you Maestro it was for the people posting in this thread. Sometimes we have a heated debate on this site which is usually a good thing. Sometimes it gets taken too far and needs to be calmed down. Back on topic i see what you are saying about the moutune tuning package. I think the biggest problem is that while montune have been around for years ( longer than i have been alive) they are only just starting to become noticed for there work with the st range. People don't see them as an established company and want to go with other well know companys like pumaspeed etc. The st has always been difficult to get extra bhp out of and it is going to be expensive. The montune package is cheap for what it is and would be the one i went for if i had an st. While a test would be good to see how different the various packages are you will never get an exact comparison. To do that you would need to get a standard st and do a power run. Then install the first kit and test it. Then take it all off again and put the second kit on and do a test. Every st is slightly different so having 2 different cars with the kits on is kinda pointless. It needs to be done on the same car and back to back tested. EDIT: I wrote this before all the other replies so not read the above yet

Ive emailed mountune a couple of times regarding the kits and did ask for a 0-60 time, they said they didnt have one.
They did say though that upto 100 mph theres only half a car lengths difference between the 185 kit and 165 kit and the 195 kit is quoted as a 6.9 0-60
As a guess I reckon its going to be low 7's, maybe if you nailed it a 7 dead or something.

I would say thats a fair assumption.
You have to remember, quite alot of people dont want to get involved with pub talk figures. Not having a dig at anyone, just it is quite a few peoples opinion.

I think it'd be a shame for you to leave the site Dal, people just want to know what the kit does and there will be plenty of sceptics, you have to remember most don't have this mod, and the price sounds a lot for the power increase. There are plenty of debates on here and sometimes it can seem like a battle to get your point across; stick with it though, you are a minority with this kit and your information is valuable. We all make judgements and sometimes the wrong one, or perhaps just get 'the wrong end of the stick'. I for one hope you stick around and keep us updated

i still find it hard to believe that people think its a lot of money for a 4-1 manifold, sports cat, catback, induction system with own design heat shield box and cold air feeds plus calibration file and fitting for £1300 and you keep your warranty.
if members are happy with there standard ST then fair play to them personally as standard they are a boring warm hatch that doesn't really excite. spend a few quid and it completely transforms the car into a fantastic hot hatch.
i missed around with my old one changing flexi pipes, exhausts, induction kits etc and after a while i wish i had bought something complete and not a mix and match system. Hence the new 500 and a kit from mountune
don't knock it until you have tried it readers - i know for a fact mountune have had rolling road results on this kit into the early 170's
165 is a guarantee but tests have shown some will get more depending on the car itself.

Dal - You shouldn't let the opinions of a few pasionate people form your judgement of the majority of the people on this site. I find this site by far the friendliest place to talk about the ST. Sure, people sometimes don't agree but you have to remember that you've got a mix of people here from tesco carpark racers to highly knowledgeable folk. I for one 'get' the mountune package - its tuning as tuning should be; sensible gains for sensible outlay that results in a better car to drive. 0-60 time are not a good reflection of a cars performance and neither is peak power. Mountune understand this, you understand this and so do I; doesn't mean that everybody has to share your views!

ppl are just jealous that you have a st500, and the 165bhp pack, which makes it even more special. at the end of the day £1300 for that fitted is cheap, i got my friend at ford to get a cost price on this kit to him (so this is not including fitting cost) he got a price from montune for £1000. so reall you got a deal, plus warrenty.

LOL - I'm not a fan of the ST500 but do have to say that £10k is a bit more reasonable than what ford are asking for it!
I don't see why they didn't paint the wheel center caps too?!?
