A mate of a mate put one in his ST, it looked well. He put it where the power output was beside the gear stick and moved the power output to the other side of the gear stick. I thought it a bit pointless though. You put the key in, turn it 2 clicks, then press the start button. I'll just stick to turning the key all the way i think.

I think it would look quite good. It would be a bit like in the Mk1 Focus RS where you have to have the key at position 2, but then don't need to turn the key to start it just press the button. The only thing is that as you say because you're obviously losing the standard power outlet, that has to be moved, and I think anyone that has done this has had to drill into the cup holder to move the socket to there.

I always thought about getting one of these for my fiesta. I was going to use the button for the boot release and then relocate the boot release. Doubles as a security measure.

Hey Micky, I wouldn't have thought of that, but now you say it, that probably would be a far nicer place to have it, and certainly wouldn't look out of place. In fact, I think that's where they ARE having a proper starter button on the next Fiesta.

Hmm, although they sound good in theory, I'm not too sure that remote starts are so good an idea in practice. You can start your car on the drive to warm it up, and if someone then jumps in and flies off with your car then the insurers can refuse to pay you a penny.

You cannot move the car due to the steering lock still being on. So unless you brake that. Also i think the remote start shuts the engine off. So if they manage to get in (without braking the windows) sit there turn the engine off and double lock the doors. Then casually ring the old bill and watch them squirm.

cost is about £400, You need a new alarm fitted to the car and you can have the remote start as an extra. I always liked the idea of a remote horn

Clifford do a good alarm system. You can get some of the price back as it can reduce your insurance premium.

You might be able to get a local ice dealer to fit it for you, could be cheaper ( Don't go with halfrauds!!!)

But Cliffords can come out and fit while you are at work if you want.
