i have just brought a 06 and have only got 1 key, the remote one
is it possable to buy another remote key and program it myself or is it dealer only
also when the alarm goes off, the indicators flash but there is no sound at all
any ideas why

I think the facelift can only be programed by the dealer. If you have a pre-facelift you can program it yourself. I got a key off ebay for about £30 and cut at ford for a fiver.

No Idea regarding the alarm. Perhaps the gem module needs replacing.

Yes, it looks like you have the GEM problem with your alarm, you will have to get it booked in with a dealer to fix.
It will be done under warranty.
A second key has to be programmed in using the dealer's IDS system, you could have that done at the same time.
When they say it is a charge to programme the key remind them that they have to programme the keys back into the new GEM as part of the warranty cost so they shouldn't really be charging you.
Just get the new key cut at the parts dept before you have the GEM done.
