...about my old st...when i traded it in i got 7300 and i knew the engine was bbuggered thats why i got rid of it quickly but someone from work knows a guy from the garage a traded it into and he was talking to her and said it cost the garage who eveentually got my car £1000 to get it fixed, lmao...unlucky!!

yeah the person did join the site, saw that a while back it was around xmas time...unlucky for him i think but it was well looked after, just not the engine lmao

How did you manage to wreck the engine anyway?
It's got a rev limiter etc etc.
Did you run it hot or low on oil or something or was it burnouts?

think it was that i ragged it everywhere lmao and i was doing 42 miles to work and back for 3 months

OK but you still haven't answered really.
Are you sure the engine was shot, they are quite tough??
What were the symptoms, was the MIL on?
You may have just cooked the cat.

Yes the Wankel is a bit un-forgiving and you MUST run it on good petrol and keep the oil clean and topped up.

I agree with that but if the dealer dosen't ask or even test drive the car what can they do? If the dealer dosen't check these things they have nothing to go on.

u maybe be right there but over here if a dealer buy the car from u but then later found that the engine is dead or have internal damage then the dealer could always ask to pay for the car repair but its rarely happen and hard to prove

Surely the dealer would have checked it over before accepting it as a trade in?...that would be like us going to buy a car without test driving it first or even looking at it!

sold as seen....he just looked at it and said yeah 7300 trade in...his problem...not mine...anyway its fixed now and must be ok...lol

to be honest it was about 9 months ago now and can't remember much, the mil light didnt come on but i cknow it was making a strange sound when driving and thats how i noticed it
