I agree with that but if the dealer dosen't ask or even test drive the car what can they do? If the dealer dosen't check these things they have nothing to go on.

u maybe be right there but over here if a dealer buy the car from u but then later found that the engine is dead or have internal damage then the dealer could always ask to pay for the car repair but its rarely happen and hard to prove

Surely the dealer would have checked it over before accepting it as a trade in?...that would be like us going to buy a car without test driving it first or even looking at it!

sold as seen....he just looked at it and said yeah 7300 trade in...his problem...not mine...anyway its fixed now and must be ok...lol

to be honest it was about 9 months ago now and can't remember much, the mil light didnt come on but i cknow it was making a strange sound when driving and thats how i noticed it

OK, I don't think you'd shot the engine though TBH I think you'd shot the cat.
