Over the past week or so I've noticed that my ST is kinda sliding a bit when going round corners and feels a bit light when driving at any speed. Even when I'm driving down relatively straight roads with gentle curves in them, I get a bit of a "floating" feeling from the car. Also noticed the steering wheel doesn't always correct itself all the way after turning sharp bends as well as gentle ones.
Today I went to the local Hi-Q garage that I use and they checked tracking and tyres and the basics etc. They couldn't see anything wrong. I had brand new Goodyear Eagle F1's fitted in February and they have done about 4000 miles and they said that they are in good condition. They said it could be power steering related. When I had it MOT'd in February, they did say that there was a little play in the steering wheel but it was nothing to worry about at the time.
So I phoned the Ford garage in Stafford 3 times...no answer. Phoned the Ford garage in Penkridge (quite a few miles out of Stafford) and I took the mechanic on a road test to show him what the problem was. He noticed I was having to pull the steering in the opposite direction to correct it but he couldn't feel any drifting/sliding.
Got it booked in with them for a week Thursday to be investigated. Anybody got any ideas what it could be?
