Hi,

I have just bought a Ford Fiesta with Bluetooth technology. I sat in the car studying the book and learning all about it and used it with no problems. I have just completed my first journey and although my Bluetooth voice recognition is quite happy with the command "Radio" and "CD" it refuses, point blank, to recognise the command "Phone". My phone is definitely connected and is accepting incoming calls happily and also dialling out if I use the radio controls to do so but it will NOT recognise the word "Phone" after I have clicked the mode button. I have tried various accents and volumes but it will not have it!

I hope somebody can help me .... pleeeaase!!!

Further info - have just discovered it accepts Phone as a command when ignition not on but as soon as ignition is on it will not accept Phone. Why? Anybody?!

What phone have you got.

The bluetooth system is NOKIA and therefore only really works well with nokias. All other makes have trouble.

If not then it probably needs resetting

Dave - I have no problems with my Sony Ericsson phone. Connects without fail.

Anyway - even without a phone connected, the system should recognise the "phone" command but it will respond "no phone connected"

It sounds to me like the system is working fine but your accent is off - are you Northern

Sorry guys, couldn't help it! Seriously, the fact that its ok when engine is off and doesn't work when on could be clarity of command. Make sure you speak clearly and to the microphone (on the A pillar near the sun visor), not the radio.

Failing this, either bring it back to ford or simply disconnect the battery and wait 30mins or so (never tried it, but said to solve everything!)

I have a friend from Hull who can't get anything to work

Fern = Phone 'fone'
err = 0 'oh / zero'
fer = 4 'four'

however Fer can also be used in the following context
"its not fair" or "shall we go to the fair"

Bless the engineers at Ford - never thinking of regional accents - lol!
