I've just bought a replacement unit off fleabay and have fitted it as normal. Only remaining problem is that the new unit will only go on for 1 hour and turning off/on the ignition makes no difference when the old unit used to switch off/on with the ignintion.

What could be wrong - keen to avoid the possible £45 charge ford want to take a look!!

Faulty unit or the live feed from the number 1 position of the ignition has pinned out of the connector as you have re-connected it.

Take the unit out and check all the wires are pushed fully into the connector block.

Check all the fuses as well.

Fleabay >.< I hope you get this sorted and it's an easy fix... it does sound like the ignition connector isn't working correctly and you're running off the 1 hour option when you don't need keys to make it work.

Read your handbook it will tell you

Handbook is near to useless, hence my question! Managed to find it by simply removing all the fuses 1 by 1 until I found a blown one.
I have now fixed.
