The safety feature - when braking hard the hazard lights flash on. I understand this is done for a reason, but today I braked hard and wasnt aware they came on as had the music a little louder than normal - I also wasnt paying attention to the two flashing arrows on my dashboard!

Not too fussed if you cant was just interested if it could be done or not?

cheers!

yes mate - you need togo into the menu option on the control stalk and turn it off.

switch on ignition. keep pressing the button until it says hold down for menu and then flick through the options

i also need todo that on my new one so thanks for reminding me - lol

the only time I have braked hard was when testing my rear calipers when I had a faulty one, even then these were not emergency stops - so how hard do you need to brake to bring the hazards on ? or could they be set to "off" on mine and does this mean it just switches the annoyance off or does it switch off the rear indicators too for this warning option for other drivers ?

well i hit the breaks quite hard yesterday and they came on. have a look in the menu and see whether there on or off. knowing fords they will prob only come on when it can be arsed

i think it puts on all the indicators fella.

Ive had my ST over a year now and mine have never come on but i remember my mate mentioning it! For them to come on i think you have to seriously be braking hard! ive only heard my ABS kick in 3times ever since i had the car! all three times thanks to ABS and idiots pulling out in front of me ive avoided indefinate crashes if i was in my old car!

You can easily get them to come on quick slam on the brakes at high speed. They are always flashing on me when i go into rally mode on the snake pass haha

Apparently its activated through a combination of breaking force and the time betwee releasing the accelerator and applying the brakes.

For me it comes on all the time - just my style of driving. It doesn't seem to be speed related
