The new CD player in the fiesta is a Sony headunit as opposed to the standard ford unit they used to fit. They also now have alpine speakers which are very good indeed. Unless you are a serious hard core audiophile the sony system will more than suffice

The stereo is older Fiesta was visually split into three sections, although behind the dash was only one unit, which meant that you needed to cut into the dash to remove the dividers if you wanted to replace it.

On more recent ones, it's just one unit, so if you really wanted to replace it then it is a lot easier to remove. However, you will be left with a gap either above or below your new stereo.

tryed to do this the other day it can be done but you would havet to put a cut off switch on the remote wire and there is alot of cutting to do to get the pre outs for your sub. ended up buying a new stereo

I have just this week had a sub/amp wired in to my standard 6006 headunit...i took it to RMD audio and they sorted it for me...They have attached some kind of box which you can run pre-outs on from the rear speakers i think...it is possible and does sound great!! i am sure you can get the little box thing that goes on the radio from halfords
