I went to use my MP3 hole for the first time the other day and found that when I change into first or second gear from a higher gear, the sound from the MP3 player stops. I'm guessing that there are some wires stuck somewhere which is pulling the MP3 one when I push the gear lever over to the left. Is this a common problem and one that's easy to fix?

Yes it looks like the gear selector mechanism is crushing the MP3 cable in the console.
Get the dealer to do it though as it's probably damaged the wire.

Try lifting the 'hole' socket up and having a look to see if the cable can be pulled free.
