What's your experiences with this head to head ? Handling/performance.
Also, does anyone know what the spec differences are between these 2.0 litre Ford engines ?

Handling the fiesta wins hands down. Its a shorter lighter chassis and is just a bit more responsive.

I'm not sure but i think the st170 engine is a zetec but davetst would confirm this.

The ST170 is a zetec and the ST150 is a duratec. I'm not 100% up to speed but the duratec is a lighter unit due to its all aluminium construction versus the zetec's alloy head but iron block.

The ST170 obviosuly pushes out more power but its emissions and fuel economy suffer quite badly.

My mate has a focus ST170 and he can't keep up.....mind you, he is a police man!

At Fords test track, the Fiesta ST set a faster lap time.

the 0 to 60 is 7.9

top speed 134 mph

torque 145 lb-ft

i had a sort of head to head with one when i had my st and it was slightly pulling away and u all know how i drive lmao

Fiesta ST will beat an ST170 but only up to abot 70-80.

The gearing is pretty dire on the ST170.

The rest of the car is fantastic though, especially the Custom.

The whole package was carried over from the Focus SVT (USA) and cosmetically Euroised.

Plus because of the crappy Black oak (again) it never ran properly either

ive done a focus st170 b4, not guna say the speed that i was doin, but i saw him can it off racing a golf tdi, and just went pass them both, and the tdi was pulling away from the st170, not goin to say which lane i was in when goin past them.lol, wasnt safe, but i like to prove a point.lol
