which side is the petrol filler

OK - I'm 27 years old and been driving for 10 of them but learnt a new thing today...... For years I've been driving hire cars and always have the issue of being in a rush, having to fill up in a rush and not knowing what side the fuel filler cap is on. Only today did I realise that there is a little arrow on the fuel dial point to the side with the filler cap Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks! is it just me who didn't know about this  ?

There is an arrow on the fuel gauge that points to the relevant side.

On the pre facelifts there's an arrow at the top of the digital petrol gauge, I'm guessing that's it? I always wondered what that arrow meant!

cool  is annoyin in hire cars when u dont know what side its on.. Even more embarrassin.. i went to fill one up, a toyota i think, went to fill up was on the right side, but cudnt see how to get that damn thing open, so was playin around with it, had to get the manual out, was there for ages. Looked well dodgy as well, me there lookin about 15 driving this people carrier, prob thought ui had robbed it.. Eventually some guy came over an opened it, was hidden down on the floor :S

ha ha ha - I've started a hot topic.
The arrow/triangle points to the cap. The facelift certainly has this and so does the focus I drove the other day (cap on right).
I'll check the 306 when Tamara gets back but now I think of it, I always wondered what the triangle was for!
