OK - I'm 27 years old and been driving for 10 of them but learnt a new thing today......

For years I've been driving hire cars and always have the issue of being in a rush, having to fill up in a rush and not knowing what side the fuel filler cap is on. Only today did I realise that there is a little arrow on the fuel dial point to the side with the filler cap

Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks!

Look at this picture. It's the 'arrow' next to the pump that indicates which side of the vehicle the filler is.

There is an arrow on the fuel gauge that points to the relevant side.

ah right, never noticed before!

well i think its already introduced, but not as you know it, its like the picture of the tank, if the nozel bit is on the right, then the cap is on the right hand side, if the nozel is on the left then the cap is on the left

or looking back at the email i had..

"f you look at your petrol gauge, you will see a small icon of a petrol pump?
The handle of the petrol pump will extend out on either the left or right side of the petrol pump?
If your tank is on the left, the handle will be on the left? If your tank is on the right, the handle will be on the right . It is that simple! "

On the pre facelifts there's an arrow at the top of the digital petrol gauge, I'm guessing that's it? I always wondered what that arrow meant!

yes there is an arrow by the fuel can icon and it points left, which is where the filler is! - on the facelift
