Dont know what it is but every now and again when i reverse my car it will only go in reverse if it crunches has anyone else ever noticed this if they have what did you do to resolve it is it some sort of common problem or recall or anything as the car is only 2 years old and the warranty expires in march i think so if its a gearbox i need be good to get it sorted soon what you guys think????

I've noticed the crunch, if your're too quick selecting reverse. Try waiting a little while after putting the clutch down (3 secs in handbook) before selecting reverse.

as pazza said, depress the clutch and let it back up. Should be able to select reverse then, this happens on a lot of cars. There is a technical reason but I can't tell you that bit

or 3rd seems to do the trick too, I now habitually do that. Mine now ticks over at 1,000rpm and if anything less crunching than prior to its normal 800ish rpm (pre-mountune), so usually worse with higher revs but clearly not the case.

Always stick in it another gear before trying reverse to avoid looking like a learner driver! It def. helps prevent the cruch.
