Hi, can anyone help me .... PLEASE! I bought my 08 Fiesta ST about a month ago and was told by the dealer that the new Sony Cd fitted had bluetooth. I have been right the way through all the instructions and can't find it anywhere. I went back to the ford dealer who tell me that I don't have it! Does anyone know if I have to get bluetooth fitted in the car (as a technology pack or something) or is there another way of getting it to work, as the ford dealer really hasn't been very helpful. The model I have is the new Sony with red lighting, mp3 etc.

The Sony system is bluetooth compatible, but thats not to say that you have it fitted.

Best thing to do is to look above your eyeline on the rigth hand A pillar. If there is a little microphone assembly then you have bluetooth fitted.

You can also open up your glovebox all the way (ie pop it out) and you'll see a nokia bluetooth unit in there.

You can retro fit, but its very costly and you need to get ford to reprogram the computer to let the system know you have it.

If they missled you with the sale and you have it written down that it had Bluetooth then you can make them fit it.

You can have it retro fitted but it will cost you about £400 or you could buy some of the parts yourself, fit them and then just get the dealer to flash the car to get it to work.

I've have made them fit it - the bluetooth also gives you voice control (used in the loosest sense of the word) over the radio and heating system....... its just like knightrider but KIT appears to be a bit retarded

I have tried to go down this road after I bought the car but didn't get anywhere. My car was an ex-demonstrator, the salesman told us when we test drove it etc that it had bluetooth, usb connectivity but this was never in writing so that was that! I am going to go back to them to see whether they can fit it retro and see how much they'll charge me. A lot of people have spoken about the parrot system but I don't want lots of bits on the dash or wires etc. It has to look sleek!

Is it the kit or the owner??!!!! Definately sounds like the best option, perhaps I can add some pressure to get the price down because their salesman told me I had it in the 1st place. Watch this space ...

Well, once again I have spoken to an extremely unhelpful Ford Dealer who have told me that they have a directive that states that bluetooth can NEVER be fitted retrospectively! He also said that they used to fit a parrot kit but they are no longer allowed to do that either. When I asked about the parts, he said they couldn't get them and a nokia bluetooth device would never be fitted in a ford anyway. Really helpful don't you think!

Either he has no idea or all you lovely ford owners are having illusions!!!

Any idea where I can buy the parts from and what parts I need? I don't think I'm going to get it done unless I sort it myself!

If you can find the part number for the bits, you can order these directly from ford. then you'll have to find a garage or mechanic that will fit these and re-flash your computer to let it know that the unit is fitted.

Honestly, you'd be better off getting halford to fit a parrot device or a bluetooth compatible retrofit headunit - it will be cheaper and easier that getting ford to do anything helpful!

I'm so pleased! I found a chap in another main ford garage who agreed to fit it no problem at all. I now have it, fully working, in my car and it's gr8!! It can be retro-fitted and I got there in the end!
