I need to replace the battery in my key fob will I need to reprogramme the key for it to work? My old astra you didn't have to but I know they mentioned it the other day at ford

erm i think you have to get Ford to do it or a key specialist

Its not something I've done before but according to the hand book its just a case of swapping in the new battery, reprogramming isn't necessary.

Mine needs doing. It took 4 rather tense atempts at getting the car unlocked the other day. Dont really fancy clambering in through my cars boot as the alarm goes off lol

You can always unlock the door with the key - it will start to sound the alarm if you locked it with the remote, but as long as you get the key in the ignition and turn to position 1 or 2 (can't remember which) within a few seconds it will know you're not trying to steal it!

you have to start the engine or it will go off, left my "primary" keys at a friends over the weekend

I have an ST of the delocked variety ... boot time for me

How'd you open the boot if you're battery is flat?

Christ....... I've just had to check, but I didn't even realise that boot had a key hole!!!!

I've had it just over 2 years now........ and the battery isn't flat yet

my instructions for using the key in the door are back to front ! So I turn the key the opposite way it says in book !
