Hi guys,

Wish me all luck as I have my driving test tomorrow at 11! I'm starting to get a little nervous now!

I shall post tomorrow to let you know if I past or not! As soon as I do pass I'm going to look for my baby. I think I shall start with a Fiesta Zetec S.

Sarah

Don't get too nervous, just forget about the examiner being there and you'll be fine, think of it being someone else and it will take the edge off it a little. Just be calm, make sure you check everything that you do and just try and relax if you can. Also, make sure you move your head loads when each time you look in your mirrors to make sure he knows you're looking in them!

Good luck Sarah.

Unfortunatley she didn't pass... It was by no mistake of her own. She was at a roundabout waiting to go and the road cleared so she was starting off and a boy racer from behind overtook her, cut her up and then carried on.

Her instructor in the back of the car argued with the examiner but it was no good... they have to fail so many per day and unfortunatley the boy racer ruined the changes for Sarah to pass.

I don't understand why people can't just be patient and wait... what an idiot!!!

It's not all bad though... i'm sure you lot can help her out and tell us all how many times it took you to pass and the reasons why!!!

first time 24 years ago age 18, did a lot a cycling then (still do) and think that helped a lot, also was so much easier traffic wise/road layout design back then too, must be much harder now with the theory, was just a few questions on signs and that was it.

Does that make you feel old putting those dates down steve? The test is really hard now with theory, hazard awareness etc etc... i think even I would struggle and i only did it 6 years ago.

You could argue that the test has becoming harder over the years to reflect the new dangers on the road..... my nan had a full licence, including motorbikes and HGVs and she diodn't even do a test!

That said, the test is tough for a reason and to be honest I'm not convinced about the "we have to fail so many per day" comment...... they can't fail you if you don't do anything wrong. Are you sure that fail was not for hesitating at a clear junction?

I passed my driving test first time, but my bike licence took 2 attempts.... basically I was nearvous as hell and screwed everthing up.... left indicator on, wrong lane position, hesitating at junction etc etc. the only way it could have be worse is if I'd spanked the bike. Second test was total opposite - clear sailing and not a single fault...... its like any exam; as long as you know the subject matter you'll be fine if you don't loose your nerve!

Hesitation is only a minor...
A mate got failed because he waited outside a cross hatched box instead of waiting in it...wtf???
Another of my mates failed because they got cut up...and so they had been in a dangerous occurance or something stupid like that

I don't see how you can be failed because someone overtook you. Must have been something else.

He overtook her, cut her up and made her stop... as the post above states it was a "potential dangerous occurance"... surely if she didn't crash and she did exactly what she should have done then why the bi-jesus did the idiot fail her?

I know that was the only thing as the driving instructor was in the car with her whilst taking the test... he was furious!!!

Never mind Sarah; don't worry about it.

Just an unfortunate incident at the wrong time.

I'm sure you'll pass next time, just put this under your belt as experience.
