Sucking noises

Not my ST but my old fiesta (well gfs now)
As your driving along when you put your foot down it chokes/stalls but without completely stalling
Under the bonnet you can hear a sucking noise when you press the accelerator
Any ideas? Checked for damaged pipes etc but to no aveil

Possibly a blockage in the fuel line or filter? It could also be the throttle control malfunctioning? What year Fiesta is it?
A slight sucking noise is normal as far as I know, its just the engine pulling in air when you rev. Should be a short sucking sound just before the engine revs.

Its not a noise I heard when I have opened the bonnet before so...
Its a 1999 and i think its a MK4, the really rounded face one
Going to get it booked in for a service and get it done at the same time

Yes, Sorry.
The Sucking or wheezing noise is the engine struggling to breathe.
Sick your hand over the tailpipe and see what happens, that's the same as the cat blocked.
They have a tendancy to break up inside and block the exhaust.
You may/should be able to get one from a scrappy but they are the whole manifold assy I'm afraid (That's presuming it's a 1.25 or 1.4 Zetec SE)

Is it as flat as a fart as well? It could also be the baffles in the back box have collapsed causing the same problem.
Bang your hand on the back box and if you can hear a clanging/rattling then it's that, if not it's the cat sorry.
But just check its not something silly like the air filter clogged If you don't know how long ago it was changed.
