This reminds me of a fella at work who once told me of all the people wanting bill payments from him when times were hard.
This is a completely true story that occured in the early '90's...
The chap i knew told me that he was up to his eyeballs in debt.
He was having repeated letters from the Gas, Electric, council (at the time,Poll Tax), TV Licensing and Mortgage lender.
One day, he had a phone call from his Electricity supplier saying that he owed them x amount of money. His reply.....
"Look, the way i pay my bills is like this; I put everyones bill into a hat each Month and whoever i pull out of the hat is who i pay"
"If you continue to send warning letters and now phone calls for money, you will not be put into my hat!"
Unfortunately for him i did find it funny.
Needless to say, he was eventually repossesed and made bankrupt.
