What gearbox does the zetec s tdci have in and how much bhp/torque would it take?

Another question while i'm here just found this on DS website... http://www.dreamscience-automotive.co.uk/software/plug-and-go/stratagem-st150.phpthe graph at the bottom...does this mean that it will only be quick if you rag the bollocks off of it?

Ive looked at that myself, thats what i was going to get after the exhaust, I no what you mean with it saying race +.

It has the same gearbox and driveshafts as the ST150 only with revised gear and final ratios to suit the Diesel engine. The ST is close ratio, the Diesel is long ratio.
It will take up to 250nm of torque easily and up to 300nm if treated with respect using better oil etc.

As a mate was looking at getting his car tuned and they said that its possible to get 142bhp and 230nm or 125bhp and 304nm out of the diesel

To get 140+ out of the 1.6 TDCi you need to upgrade the injectors, fit a larger intercooler and a bigger or hybrid turbo. The 90PS Fiesta has a fixed mechanical Turbo whereas the 110PS Focus has a larger Hybrid turbo controlled by the PCM.
With good re-mapping 130BHP/280nm has been acheived with the aid of a K&N and a free flow back box. Though you will get tonnes of smoke.
Apparently the rear box is very restrictive.
I think most people go for 110-125BHP/230-250nm though to reduce the risk of damage to the gearbox/clutch and make an extremely fun little car

So are you saying 142 bhp is not possible on a standard then?
Or 304NM with 125bhp?

No, you won't get past 130 standard.
you won't get 300+NM either as it's a fixed turbo. It's the 110 Focus that can get this.
If you want to make a difference then remove the Cat (have a pipe made up so you can coonvert back) put on a free flow back box and a K&N panel filter.
NOT a 57i, they actually loose power on a Diesel. These mods make the turbo spin up quicker and improve throttle response.
That will push you past 100PS without a re-map then have a live re-map done once the mods are fitted you should get 125 easily.

its a shame ford did not put the 110 bhp dv6 in the fiesta that would have been more fun than the 90
