I'm very close to buying the stage 1 kit from Mountune but I cannot seem to get cheap insurance quotes! The premium goes up as soon as I say it is remapped!

Should it still be declared on the insurance as it's starting to niggle me how they sleep at night with these silly quotes!?!

These are the guys who can't insure me! They state the following... **We are currently unable to quote this postcode sector**

Do you have any other suggestions? Cheers,

That's tomorrows job! Hope they can help, as I may have to forget the remap!! I know this helps the added components etc - doesn't it?

Do you live in a new build area?

If yes just get them to enter it as a new address. I had this problem with my last house.

And i would always declare everything to your insurance. They will not pay out in the event of an accident otherwise. Worst case is 6 points and a hefty fine. Not worth the risk.

when i asked elephant baout this i said it doesnt remap for more power just changer parameters to give better fuel consumption and driveability and to tlet the ecu know theres bin changes, he said oh right we wud put it down as full exhaust and induciton then and would cost an extra 322

lol don't go with that mate. In the event of a claim they will say you should have told them about the remap. Can't understand why they can't look up the website and add it as per that! It's hardly a 10% increase in power, shouldn't be that bad really!

yeah iknow there twa*s lol, i think ill just keep my mouth shut or wait till im 21 and can go with green light as they know what the mod is or just wait for other companys to recognise the mt upgrades, a 10percent remap on its own added 250 to my policy, i dont see why i should pay for power increase of 10percent then pay for exhaust and induction, its gay
