I had to try afew things and i got an Audio cd to display the cd txt using burrn or something like that but had to mess about with making some files WMA due to some of rate\freq.
Just wondering has anyone make a MP3 cd, so thats like over 100 songs with cd text, ie title, artist name etc.

Use iTunes as it burns MP3s with their meta tags.

I have done it,I used the roxio easy cd creator to do it+does all the cd text for you aswell, as you can see from the picture, its a normal 700mb cd, and total time 426 minutes

You can rip a CD into MP3 using Windows Media Player and then use any CD burning program to make a data CD.

Remember to use a one tier folder structure otherwise the unit will mix all of the the tracks up in the subfolders.

I'm no expert in this but this is what I do and same as what ST06 says, You can rip from a CD using WMP into either WMA or MP3 format. If I want to make a CD I use Nero to burn the tracks onto CD and it will burn them as CDA tracks which means they will play on ANY type of player. I don't use ITUNES because you then become limited as to what hi-fi equipment will play Itunes tracks.
I transfer my WMA's straight to my MP3 player and because I have manually named the songs track/album/artist this info or at least most of it displays on my MP3 player.
MP3 yes more compressed and you fit more tracks on discs and players but too much hassle I think and anything less than XP was not ready for MP3 so Windows really prefers to work with CDA/WMA tracks. You can also compress WMA if you wish, I rip at 160kbps which is high quality, you can go much much lower though.
hope that helps.

With this solution can you play/sort by artist etc like the user after you posted, the folders are for album sorting i believe?
The thing with WMP is i burned using is, burns fine, but cd text (artist name etc) does not work.
So i make a 'burn' list in WMP but dont burn in WMP?

Might try getting them program Paul, is it free?
Sorry about all the questions, i know alot of computers just never been able to make an MP3/Data CD.

I don't have the sony audio in my ST, got the 6006 (the one where you can put 6 cds in it)
I've done a couple of cds for mates with the cd player you have and yes the cd text scrolls across the display with the singers name(and the name of the song)
will work on any in car cd player which has cd text, will even work at home if your hi-fi displays cd text

Ah right, do you have the title and artist name in the track title field then?
Its meant to be like Title name, then artist name seperate, but i cant get it to scroll/change display automatically.
Im waiting for that program you use to 'arrive' on my pc.

The 6CD Autochanger (6006CDC) only plays standard discs not MP3s. The single disc Sony unit will play MP3s.
