When I brake I seem to be getting this noise, sounds like a scrapping noise. Are you supposed to be able to hear brakes when you press them? Im not sure if its some grit in my pads or if its something more serious. My brakes are working fine, its just this noise that has appeared! Cant figure out which brake it is, or if its more than one.

Any help greatly appreciated!

You shouldn't hear anything when braking. Could be grit... is it just one disc?

Could they be warped?

They shouldnt be warped. It sounds to me like its coming from the back passenger one or possibly the front passenger one. But I may be totally wrong! It only started a couple of weeks ago and I thought it might just be the rust on them from the rain.
Ill have to take it to a garage to get checked over I think? There are garages that do free brake checks and free air con checks etc. May try that.

I think Steve had issues with his calipers sticking to the disc, could be they've ceased a bit on one wheel

It had a service done a few months ago so they should be ok. How can I check to see if the caliper has stuck to the disc?

look at all the discs, are they fully clean ie no rust or rust bands, the pads should clear them, if they do are there any severe scratch marks on the discs. Give your wheels are a good wash, let the discs rust over night, then drive next day, apply brakes purposely hard, do some hard braking and stops, check all discs to see if clearing. Might be a pad not in place properly.
