Ford Fiesta RS concept

I stumbled across this earlier today. I think the only decision they need to make is on the powerplant.

Ford Fiesta RS concept: first glimpse of a radical, rally-inspired Fiesta for the road
A motorsport-inspired Fiesta RS concept was unveiled recently. It joins the dynamic 150PS Fiesta ST and all-new Fiesta Junior World Rally Car to put the spice back into small Fords. Although the project is still in its early stages of development and public reaction will help determine its progress, power output for a production model of the front-wheel-drive Fiesta RS concept would be in excess of 180PS, with a target zero-to-60mph figures of around seven seconds.

"We aren't going to finalise technical specifications until we hear the feedback from potential customers," said Ford Team RS director, Jost Capito. It is anticipated that a production version of the Fiesta RS concept could be ready for the road in under two years following programme approval.

Any of you guys heard of Pat Doran? well he races in the british Rally cross
A mate of mine used to work for him and he has annouced that his next car will be a Fiesta RS check out his site http://www.patdoran.co.uk/ for some pics of what it is going to look like.

Up till now he has been running an RS200 (monster of a car pushing over 700BHP) but after a long life it is being retired and the Fiesta is due out by the end of this year!!

Sadly it's nothing to get too excited about, it's a home built version of the JWRC Fiest. It's going to be powered by the 19year old design Cosworth YB engine that was in the Sierra, Sapphire and Escort Cosworth.
