I've copied this as I've posted it on a few other forums....... Ford have launched a new marketing and information web site: http://www.fiestasportseries.comIf you have a look on here and register, it counts your registration towards the numbers Ford will use as 'interested customers' which in turn will increase the chance of the RS being made! Please visit and register your interest! Sorry if loads of you are already aware of this!

Spoke to loads of people at Ford, and pushed them to give me some details. They are saying roughly £11.5k for the Zetec S, £13k for the ST and £17 for the RS.

Autocar this week also speculates that the RS will now be Sept '06 rather than March time. More saving time But I wonder if that will then be after the current fiesta gets a facelift which should be '06 if the usual 4 year life cycle carries on.

I would expect the RS next year some time. Any later and they'll get too close to the end of the current Fiesta run. The next Fiesta will apparently retain the same basic shape as this one, but be signifficantly different with the detailing. Ford HQ are concerned that the current Fiesta doesn't have as much "emotional appeal" as other small hatch backs (e.g. Micra). So basically, they've gotta get the RS out before they change the Fiesta!

I like the idea of low power outputs as standard. It'll keep the insurance cheap, and it will be easy for people to extract more power if they want it. Much the same as the old Cossies - you could easily turn up the boost and get more power if you could afford the extra insurance!

I've yet to see a magazine say anything other than 2006. Could be the flagship model of the facelifted fiesta? The structure of the car won't change. The fester only came out in 2002 so it's only due for a change of lights, bumpers and a bit of dash work in '06. That shouldn't hinder any RS development. It's only cosmetic.

Ford have said that future performance models such as the Fiesta RS won't be delayed like the Focus RS was. So in theory it shouldn't be a massive wait. I would expect 12 to 18 months.

The RS will be an all alluminium Ford 2.0i Duratec. A turbocharger hasn't been 100% ruled out, but it seems very likely it will be naturally aspirated. Ford have stated that the power will be at least 180bhp. Reading between the lines we can hope for around 200bhp which is regarded to be quite a safe output from the Duratec lump in NA form.

I'd like it very much that way. It's not difficult, after all Westfields put out 190bhp from the Duratec, although I think they have throttle bodies.

No offence Scotty mate, but I think the Ford dealers are almost invariably the last to know when a car can be expected - the decision is made very high up and is never cascaded down until they are confident enough to do so.
Hugh,,Dealers have had the Full spec of the car since May26th the trouble is that we have no Dealer Network like the Old RS Dealers who want to get involved in the same way. I have posted the spec on www.frsoc.co.uk But anyone can contact me on stuart.griffiths@polar-motor.co.uk if they need help with the FiestaST

That screensaver wasn't there on Thursday, you spotted that quickly mate.
That website is run by a third party so I really wouldn't read too much in it. There is a whole load of reasons why they might not of included it. The main one I think if (regardless of whether it has been canned or not) is that they are supposed to be promoting the FST, not FRS so it would be innapropriate to have it in there acting as a distraction.

Yeah, very true Hugh (hey, that rhymes! ). However, the RS is still listed on the website, so it's weird that it's inconsistent.

Has anyone been back on since, they've actually taken the screen saver off again. Also did anyone notice the letter R in white next to the RS badge when thay had changed it?
Screen saver is still there for me.

It's a red herring guys. Ford have just sent out an email, and I quote, "We'll be revealing more about the new Fab Four on their very special website very soon".
They're still talking about four cars, and there is more to reveal (what could that be, all the info on the ST and Zetec S is already out there?).
First bit of good news in a while guys. Looks like the RS could still be on.

Try using Firefox or Opera. Windows Service Pack 2 prevents stuff like that now! :P
