As you may well know this was just a small meet up for some members in and around Thatcham near Newbury, but myself and Kenny,(st essex), had the day sort of free so decided to pop down to meet some more members.
This is my personal account of the day.....
After getting in contact with Kenny before the meet he said that he was getting some stripes etc put on his car from DMB in Bromsgrove, B'ham, and that he would be there at 8.30am on Saturday morning.
Me leaving from Brum i thought it a great idea to meet up with Kenny and convoy together down to Newbury. The time and place was set to meet.
Well, after having all of last week off work and getting some lyein's
i got up late Saturday morning;
in a rush, i was in the car and off.(remember that bit).
After about half an hour i arrived to meet Kenny in the knick of time, Dave at DMB was just doing the final touches to his car. Phew!! i thought, just in time for a couple of pics before we head off.
Here is where my worst nightmare began! In the rush to set off i had left the camera memory card in my computer at home!!!
Dave DMB to the rescue!!, He managed to find a memory card to lend to me.....Bloody top man!!!
Unfortunately i had also foregot my tripod, which is essential for drive-by pics, but that wasn't so important.
So, now my camera was in action i could take some pics of 'st essex' new look.
That done with, we both had about a 100 mile drive to meet the others.
With about 1 mile to go to the meeting point, driving through Thatcham i saw a Black
with red mud flaps going the other way..............It turned out to be Kaxe!! wondering where we were.
I could believe the timing of all this; Myself and st essex arrive, 2 mins later there was Kaxe, 3 mins later Micky pulled up in his new, can i say breathtaking,
Focus
.
And after a quick drink in the pub along came 'missboo'!!
I will leave the rest now for a few drive-by pics of you all, again, i am so sorry and annoyed at leaving my tripod at home in the rush of the morning, as with this kind of pic needs the shutter of the cam to be open a tad bit longer, and so, by hand held, gets a bit blurred.
missboo...
Kaxe...
st essex...
Oh, and Micky...
And yes Micky, Thanks for my first drive in a Focus
gave me stomach 'butterflies'.
Thanks to all of you for turning up to say hello.
