Welcome to the write up of Fiesta In The Park 2009!

It was quite a day which in a nutshell was absolutely fantastic!
The weekend started off with plenty of rain on the Saturday as many of you well know, it was a struggle to keep the cars clean for the show. The forecast for the Sunday wasn't good either, but in true style,

s were washed and lovingly cleaning ready to be displayed proudly!
I must admit that I left cleaning mine until the very last minute... 18:30 on Saturday night... just as I received a call from Scotty confirming a local mini meet up down the road at 20:00. To say the least, it was the quickest car washing that ever did take place on a beloved motor vehicle. Fighting a naughty jet washer that kept blowing off it's hose to light showers I made it to the pub for 20:05 and surprise; Scotty, Sarah, Chris, Bex and Kev were nowhere to be seen!

Finally they arrived and we had a very pleasant evening talking over the whys and wherefores! We were very naughty and left the pub at 23:30, not a good idea considering the day that lay before us!
Crashing into bed and dropping to sleep at 00:45, I got some well deserved rest.
And....
BANG.... eyes opened at 03:30 and I had to get up and get ready.
I had written a list of the things that I had to bring the night before, however, the fold up chairs were in the loft, not a great time for the ladders to jam up and stay that way for the next two days. So without chairs and full of hot coffee, I ventured out into the cold morning air.
I arrived at Bex's for 06:00 as planned to pick up some of the gear and to go to the first meeting point in Coleshill. By this time my boot was brimming with stuff, chairs, flagpoles, large lump hammers... the bloody lot! Scotty's

was packed to the gills too, it's amazing how much space these performance

s have!

So off we went to meet our friends from the North....
This is the sight that greeted us... all the wonderful

s....

I was starting to think at this point that the convoy near the end of our journey would be spectacular!

We all shook hands and got acquainted or reacquainted with each other in Coleshill all chatting about old times and the adventure that lay before us. Of course it was an opportunity to take some photos!

The ladies were certainly getting acquainted with each other!

Patrick (fabrix) and Scotty had a chat, but there's a sneaky Chris in the background with his lens out!

After a while... time was marching on so it was time to set off to the McDonalds meeting point on the A14.
The convoy going down to Maccies was truly wonderful, we were videoing and taking photos of one another. I am surprised at how tolerant and how intolerant other drivers can be on a Sunday morning of a group having some fun on the roads.
Vids and Pics to fill this space from Scotty! We were having so much fun that I didn't notice (despite the use of the radios) that Scotty had indicated to turn off into McDonalds. Apologies to all that nearly had to follow me to the next junction to circle back again!

Bex and I eventually made it to the "Restaurant" for some breakfast. The good people at McDonald's really didn't know what had hit them... we had a monster nosh up which was very well received by all concerned.
So bellies full and spirits high, we left for Ellington... Leaving Patrick behind of course because of his need for the old 95RON!

And what a turnout it was too, the hub of pre FITP activity in such a sleepy little village! Good to see that the old lady that has shouted the odds in years gone by has moved on!
Ellington was a beautiful idyllic location and barely big enough to house all of the

s that had converged!

Remember Patrick.... somehow he managed to arrive 30 seconds after the main convoy to Ellington, I never did get round to asking him how fast he tanked it to arrive to quickly! Rapid isn't the word!

Vernon Kay or Patrick Bowley? I can't be sure which one came with us that day!!

Of course Pat just loves the camera, here is his exclusive portfolio...

The church that sits in the middle of Ellington is a work of art, it had to have a photo taken of it. Just amazing architecture!

Patrick did stop to have a word with the Vicar just before we left
Photo please Bex!!
