Got my new st yesterday, on a 55reg, seemed fine to start and until about 9:00pm last night, its started to struggle to start, sumtimes if fires up straight away, other times it turns over for a few seconds and i have to press the accelerator in a few times for it to fire up. surely this isnt a normal procedure with the st?! anyone got any advice as to finding and solving the problem, or any tips?
thanks

Hello mate! Amoung your paper work is there a record of your car having a ECU update. A s this is normally the cause of the problem. Mine was like this but the update cured this problem. Hope this helps.
Mo.

If its been done ford should have a record of it so ask them, If not book in in to be done it should be free, wont take long to do, think its just an ecu download.

I have a 55 plate and needed this done too. Ford did it for me in half an hour and since then, never had a problem starting her. I would say that they should do it for nothing as its a problem with the old firmware.
