I keep getting the comments "put a dump valve on it" but I just can't bring myself to do it.

What does everyone think? Should I keep the wastegate chatter or override it with a chavvy TSHHHHHHH of a dump valve? Surely the stands out enough without the silly noises?
Should I add a dump valve?

I loved dump valves on all the early 90's fords such as the Cossies & fiesta turbos - I'd give it a huge thumbs up even though theres evidence that they don't give any perfomance gains and only make a cool noise

I agree as per above but this is a vote of thoughts. This will help my defence in not having a stupid dump valve. I like the wastegate chatter, it's posher

I like the: "vrummm.....ttttssssss..." too lol

Doesn't it give you 3bhp? like putting a panel filter on to an (I know it's not the same thing but it's a lil 3bhp example too)

It doesn't do anything other than quicken the spool up time of the turbo inbetween gear changes.

They do considerably increase the life of the turbo though and you can get quiet ones.

oh right that sucks then because you gain more bhp putting dumb valves on a subaru for example but I guess that's a different league of car altogether lol

I'd tend to agree with Dave and say stick to your guns, however, it is one of the few mods that I don't mind.

Yes it can be chavvy, but not sure it is on an RS. Dump valves sound awesome on the right car, I think this could be one of them...

Don't do it....when my mate bought his RS he found one with a dump valve on but after digging around and speaking to some people found out it can cause issues with the car stalling
