My opinion is no simple as, the RS doesn't need one it sounds great as it is. If you're not wanting to do it then I'm not sure why you even need to defend it? It's your car no one elses!

I have read every one of these posts with great interest... My personal view is a Mk1 Focus in it's Standard form is owesome!!! No need to change ANYTHING!

I will NEVER forget seeing my very first one at about 6.30am when finishing a night shift on the way home in 2003/4.... He must have been late for work, driving towards me at an island!!!!

I have NEVER seen a car take this particular island so fast in ALL the years of going to and from work in over 10 years. Whoever you were...

Someone round where my mate lives has a blue cossie with a flutter (?) valve, sound ace cant really put into txt what it sounds like tho but I voted no on this poll

I think the description is a fair one of the wastegate myself:

A wastegate is a valve that diverts exhaust gases away from the turbine wheel in a turbocharged engine system. Diversion of exhaust gases regulates the turbine speed, which in turn regulates the rotating speed of the compressor. The primary function of the wastegate is to regulate the maximum boost pressure in turbocharger systems, to protect the engine and the turbocharger.
