Well the fiesta went in for its second service this morning and one of the technicians asked me to go to the service bay and have a look at what they discovered, power steering fluid all over under the bonnet. The car has not been driven all week and i only cleaned under the bonnet a few days ago, its only 7 miles to the dealers so the car must have blown the power steering pipe off this morning, this is the third warranty claim on the car and it only has 12,100 miles on the clock, I am seriously thinking of putting it in off a focus st, I am without the car till tomorrow tea time as a new pipe has had to be ordered.
This is the newest car i have had, 1 year old when bought and has been the most problematic, my 14 year old RS2000 is more reliable, I will see what is what tomorrow before deciding what to do, rant over.

I wouldnt mind so much if only i drove the car, but my partner drives it with the little ones in, if the pipe had come off with vicky driving it, it could have been worse, its the inconvenience, first time it was away for 4 days, then another 2 days and its away again, but we can never get a courtesy car. I am ok because i have the RS, but the kids are to take and pick up from school.
Now its wondering whats going to drop off or break next, I love the car so does vicky but we need something reliable.

It seems you're going through a bad time with the car They are reliable cars in the main but guess you've just been unlucky.

The Focus is a good car but will drink fuel a heck of a lot more than the little Fez so make sure that's calculated.

It could just be that the PAS fluid has boiled out of the reservoir - a common problem I understand. It's happened to me a few times and the result is an engine covered in the stuff.

That's sad to hear. ONLY after it's 2ND SERVICE!? ...sorry to hear that mate...

I was lucky to have been ok after my 2nd service but that's not fair because you expect the car to be ok when it's only 2 years old!?

No it actually blew a pipe off, the fluid could not have got hot enough, it was only 30mph and 40 mph roads to the dealers and a max of 7 miles maybe less, they had to order a new pipe in anyway.
Will see if its ready today, have not had a call yet.

Seems strange Dave that the car looked fine a few days earlier mate, then suddenly a pipe is off the power steering reservoir.
Just been in touch should be ready this afternoon.

Well i have to give the dealers credit when due, Turners of sedgefield have sorted out a new power steering pipe, steam cleaned under the bonnet and the head lad Paul came and picked me up and test drove the car, second service done and body and paint check carried out, hopefully nothing else can go wrong.
